Hot. Have been receiving a number of letters from university scholars complaining about the pirating of books in Taiwan. Somebody is backing and directing the campaign.
Kennedy’s baby died this morning, on account of an imperfection in breathing system. It was born prematurely.

Calling on Gen. Huang Ching-chiu 【黃鎮球] in Walter Reed Hospital. He has had a slight fever every morning for a year. When in a cold climate or in an air conditioned room, the fever disappears.
Marvin Liebman wishes to reprint Chap. XVIII of Kubek’s【1】 book on loss of the mainland. Wrote to him that most of the men responsible for the decisions then have either died, or lost confidence or changed opinion. To back the point, the reprint should, in an introduction call the attention of the people to the fact that Red sympathizers change tactics and that the U.S.A. should not make a second round of mistakes.
