蒋廷黻日记>19630612
Cabled home an evaluation of Kennedy’s speech at the commencement of American University, Monday.
Lindquist,【1】 the new Political Counselor of the U.S. Embassy in Taipei, came to call, accompanied by Mr. Popple of China desk.
Received from Hilsman a reprint of an article by John Hopkins Adams on ginseng, its discovery in upper New York State and an attempt to grow it there. Very amusing. Diggers for ginseng exterminated the wild variety; night raiders made it impossible to cultivate it as a crop.
Reception in Anderson House.
Reception in Philippine Embassy.
