After the meeting, Martin told me that the Ministry was considering shifting Kiang 【江易生] to some other post. Cautioned him not to repeat George’s 【葉公超] explanation for his dismissal: differences in policy. Such explanation is not entirely true; it would prevent George’s return to foreign service.
Afternoon, tape-recorded an interview with Wang Tung 【王彤],【1】 for a new radio program in Taipei, U.S.A. It would open the new program. I am glad that I kept the language simple and conversational.
Finalized my speech at the Hu Shih 【胡適] memorial service in Washington on April 14 and in New York on April 16.
