Told Kiang 【江易生] to frame a cable about the publication of U.S. Foreign Relations, 1943, China: (1) The proper reply should take the form of a Chinese publication of documents. (2) If that is not possible, the next best would be to comb the American publication for misstatements and publish the list with evidence to show.
Chen Tai-tsu 【陳岱礎],【1】 appointed Ambassador to Liberia, came to call. Invited him and his wife to dinner in the evening. Being addicted to Anglo-Saxon standards of living, they will have difficulty in Monrovia. He tells me that Taipei is much worried about the “Formosan problem” and that Ho Hao-jo 【何浩若] is advocating early counter-attack.
S. H. Tan 【譚紹華], having resigned from his post in Argentina, came to call. He talked much but said little about Argentina. The man is a well-dressed suave mediocrity.
