Left the house at 9:15 a.m., arrived at LaGuardia airport at 9:50. Marvin Liebman came one minute later. The plane took off at 10:15. The flight was perfectly smooth, arriving promptly at 11: 15. Mrs. Levitt was near the ramp awaiting us. As we drove to Manchester, she explained that her father had improved; however, his eyes were failing, she read a great deal to him, he enjoyed it, so did she. She kept a bird feeding station which attracted pheasants. But squirrels came to steal the food. However, her father found the squirrels amusing.
Grew’s house is right by the shoreline of an inlet of the harbor of Manchester, a small fishing town, to the north of Boston, an old structure, with paneled walls.
Grew in his younger days must have 【been] a handsome man. Even now, he speaks with a musical voice and uses a distinguished vocabulary.
I presented to him Order of Grand Cordon of the Brilliant Star.
After lunch, we left immediately at 1:30 p.m. Grew was to listen to La Boheme over the radio. Mrs. Levitt took us to the Logan airport promptly at 2:30. The plane left at 3:00.
