He called hands off Syria. He asked the U.N. to send Palestinian Arabs back to Palestine or non-Palestinian Jews out of Palestine. This is his formula for peace in the Middle East.
Had luncheon with Victor Hoo 【胡世澤]. Met Mr. Huang Chun-pi 【黃君璧], the noted painter. In his fifties, he is hale and alert.
Talk with Yen Chia-kan 【嚴家淦] on the Ingalls Shipbuilding. Magnus Gregersen and his people are giving trouble, (1) in violating the contract, (2) in keeping a man in Taipei (Marshall?) who is discourteous. Yen gave me a briefing.
Yankees won the first game of World Series 3 to 1. Braves of Milwaukee must be very disappointed.

【1】Ba Sein（1910-1964），緬甸政治人物。
1935-1936年為緬甸獨立運動組織「我緬人協會」（Do Bama Asi Ayon，英文譯為We Burmans Association或Our Burma Pary）主席。
該組織人士以thakin（主人）互稱，故又稱「德欽黨」，Ba Sein又稱Thakin Ba Sein，中譯為德欽巴盛，1938年後領導一個分裂自該組織的小團體，1940-1942年遭英國逮捕。
1942-1945年日本佔領期間，曾於政府中任職，但後來因涉入政治陰謀，被送到爪哇島。
1946年為總督行政長官會議議員，1947年曾與翁山將軍到倫敦，但拒絕在翁山與艾德禮的協議上簽字。
1947-1948年因翁山暗殺案牽連遭到監禁。
1947年將「我緬人協會」改組為「緬甸民主黨」。
