We reminisced: (1) C. T. Wang 【王正廷] and the Manchurian question, and (2) Quo Tai-chi 【郭泰祺] and declaration of war on Germany.
Chang-huan Shen 【沈昌煥] arrived at 1 a.m., by plane via Chicago and Detroit. We went to a restaurant for a snack. During the meal, he revealed his mission was connected with a military conspiracy, involving Sun Li-jen 【孫立人]. It was late. We were all tired. Agreed to meet at 10 a.m.
