Talked with Jordan of S. Africa about the 200 to 300 Chinese alleged to have entered S. Africa illegally. Urged him on humanitarian grounds to plead with his government not to deport them. To send them back to Red China would be cruel. Formosa is overcrowded. He promised to cable, remarking that S. Africa would not find the 200-300 too many. He added that there were many illegal entries by Indians.
Went to practice golf on the range.
Chose scrolls for the TV room and hung them up.
