上午至教育部开理工科（大学）暑期实习问题。程民德在离晚膳。

晨六点起。上午。看俄文一小时。九点至教育部大楼楼下，开会讨论理工科（大学）三年级暑假实习问题及课程问题。遇庄达卿、稽锥、唐臣、马大献、曾昭抡、梁叔五、张宗麟、钱俊瑞、高尔柏等。余介绍林超至西北大学为地理系主任，嘱张宗麟与侯外庐说项。

上午讨论大（学）理工三年级实习问题。张宗麟主席报告后，由高教司高尔柏说明问题症结所在，谓本夏平津各大学有2562人系三年级生，要到工厂、农场、银行、研究所实习，计1侃6志愿到东北，1238人在华北，222人到大连。物理、数学、心理，拟不予实习。钱伟长首先发言，申述学生意见，到厂后要能各处看到。余述此种办法工厂行不通，主张教育部与财经接洽，大厂每年暑假有教授在厂工作。以后各工业部人均反对学生实习不集中。十二点，余先走。下午至院。六点回。约程民德晚膳。
