Invited Cheng Tien-fong 【程天放] to lunch. Put to him the question: would the CC group oppose the formation of the Liberal Party? He said Chen Li-fu 【陳立夫] certainly would not oppose, but whether such a party is needed now remains a question. He would not commit himself, although he thought the platform good. What he really meant was that he wanted time to consult Li-fu.
