在他们迁走后的第二天晚上，一队士兵强行闯入他们的大院。
由于他们没有向警方报告迁居情况，他们被怀疑是共产党员。
他们和另外两千名嫌疑人被带到剧院的院子里。
他们在露天待了一天一夜，不吃不喝。
他们的仆人因为开门不够快而被殴打。
为了抓到一个共产党员，士兵们不得不对数千人施以残酷的惩罚。

马杰说，人们面临着抢劫甚至死亡，要么死在政府军手中，要么死在共产党手中。
这就是命运！
