C. M. Li 【李卓敏] returned from the U.S.A. Gave me an account of his interview with N. Z. 【唐玉瑞] at N.Y. She accused him for influencing me in favor of a divorce. She demanded to know why I was not in the U.S.A. According to C. M., this was the first time that he saw such intense human hatred. He had no chance to transmit my message at all. I had hoped that he might get her to sign the divorce papers.
C. M. says there might be a possibility of the U.S.A. undertaking single-handedly some continuation work after UNRRA 【聯合國善後救濟總署].
