Took Sze Pao 【蔣居仁] and N. Z. 【唐玉瑞] to Mt. Vernon. Beautiful day. Cars everywhere: on the streets and highways, around Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial, cars everywhere, simply frightfully numerous. George Washington did not seem to interest him. But we took lunch at the airport, he was excited by the planes, which alighted or took off, one every minute. We talked about C-54 and the Constellation.
