All day in billet, playing solitaire and reading 資治通鑑: 隋書. At 9, phoned 20; was told that there was no plane. The major and the naval captain came back and said there was a plane. Phoned at 3: was told there was a plane taking off at 9:30 p.m. Played more and read more. Officers from division headquarters joined in the billet, telling us how long they had to wait in Guam. At 6, the man came to tell us to be on the field at 8:30. We went to the bar to get a drink. At 7:30, another man came to tell us the trip was postponed to tomorrow 9 a.m. So another night in Tokyo!
Saw a movie: A Walk in the Sun; fighting on an Italian beach.
