At 2 p.m., went to my new office at CNRRA 【行政院善後救濟總署], for the first time. Gave an interview to a reporter of the Central News: on the spirit and aims of CNRRA: not newsy, I am afraid. Had a long talk with Chang Li-sen 【張厲生] about problems of CNRRA: (1) on the question of fair treatment of CNRRA’s staff, he advised me to apply to C. 【蔣中正] for a secret fund; (2) on T. V.’s real attitude, he thought that T. V. was isolated and therefore not well-informed, but not necessarily prejudiced against me. Kao 【高]叔康 came to offer some suggestions about relief. Dinner with Dr. Patterson【1】 of the Canadian Embassy. Chu Chia-hua 【朱家驊] and the Russian Chargé were there.
