On the Western Front… To the east of Aachen, German forces resist US 19th Corps attacks near Julich. Elements of US 3rd Army continue the siege of Metz as other elements capture Dieuze to the east. Most forces of French 1st Army remain engaged at Belfort. Patrols reach Mulhouse and the Rhine River.

In Liberated Greece… British General Scobie is given responsibility for disbanding the Greek guerrilla forces.

In Occupied Albania… German forces evacuate Tirana.

In Liberated Belgium… An agreement to disarm resistance members is made public.
