Submarine P.48 (Lt M E Faber) was sunk by Italian destroyer escort ARDENTE in the Gulf of Tunis. Lt Faber, Lt P Caddy, Sub Lt M S Orton, Ty/Lt S E Spring-Rice RNVR and thirty ratings were lost.
