In Burma… General Lloyd, commanding British 14th Indian Division, orders his 47th Indian Brigade to advance down both sides of the Mayu Peninsula while 123rd Brigade is sent to Rathedaung.

On the Eastern Front… Soviet advances continue rapidly. They retake several towns including Morozovsk, Nikolkoe and Fydorovka.

In Tunisia… The British 5th Corps of 1st Army begin an attack just north of Medjez el Bab. There is fierce fighting around Longstop Hill.
