On the 23rd, destroyers LAFOREY, CROOME, and EXMOOR, which departed Gibraltar on the 22nd as a strike force, and VIDETTE and WISHART joined the convoy, which arrived at Gibraltar on the 24th.

Australian heavy cruiser CANBERRA departed Sydney with convoy MS.2 (troopship AQUITANIA) for Ratai Bay in the Sunda Straits, arriving on the 20th.
The troops were transferred to Dutch steamers BOTH (2601grt/总吨位), REAEL (2561grt/总吨位), REIJNST (2462grt/总吨位), SLOET VAN DER BEELE (2977grt/总吨位), TAISHAN (3174grt/总吨位), TAISHAN (3174grt/总吨位), VAN DER LIJN (2464grt/总吨位), and VAN SWOLL (2147grt/总吨位) and departed as convoy MS.2A on the 21st, escorted by CANBERRA, Dutch light cruiser JAVA, British destroyers THANET and VAMPIRE, and Indian sloop JUMNA.
Light cruiser DRAGON, destroyer EXPRESS, American destroyers BARKER and STEWART, Dutch destroyers VAN NES and EVERTSEN, and American patrol vessel ISABEL provided a covering force.
CANBERRA was detached on the 23rd. She arrived at Batavia and departed on the 24th,arriving at Fremantle on the 29th. The convoy and remaining escorts arrived at Singapore on the 24th.

Panamanian steamer DAYLITE (1976grt/总吨位) was sunk on a mine in Manila Bay laid by Japanese submarine I.124 on 8 December.

Steamer BAYNAIN (659grt/总吨位), which had departed Tarakan on the 10th for Surabaya, was captured by a Japanese submarine chaser near Tarakan. She was renamed HEINAN MARU for Japanese use.

Steamers YEUN SANG (3229grt/总吨位), HOSANG (5698grt/总吨位), and TAI SANG (3555grt/总吨位) had departed Calcutta as convoy SS.1 on the 10th. YEUN SANG and HOSANG joined convoy BM.10 on 22 and 20 January, respectively. TAI SANG was lost on a mine near Singapore on the 24th.
