Went with Don 【蔣居仁], Claire, Tina, and Teddy to see the cherry blossoms. Because of a parade, many of the streets were blocked. But rain kept crowds away. Finally, we circled the Tidal Basin. It was a grand sight, both at the distance and close range. It was fairy land. But Tina was not impressed; in fact, she fretted; Teddy slept all the way.
Don and I went to Greenbriar to practice. He drove about 20 yards farther than I did.
Gave dinner in honor of Mrs. Ho Shai-lai 【洪奇芬]. Gen. and Mrs. Crittenberger, Mr. and Mrs. Kendric Marshall, an old UNRRA friend, S. H. Tan 【譚紹華] and Mary, Don and Claire, Col. Huang. Don was quite at ease in company, I was glad to note.
After company left, we went upstairs and chatted. Don told me he had 8 people on his payroll which was $3000 per month. He had enough business for the year.
Dinner for CCH 【成志會] fraternity: 20 came.
