Whole day in S.C. on South Africa. Delegates of Ghana and Guinea made fiery speeches. Pierson Dixon put in a word for moderation. So did I. Evidently, we two were not welcome. In the afternoon, Berard of France reemphasized Article 2/7. But Ecuador came out with a strong resolution. I felt very much puzzled. I would like to keep the resolution in line with past resolutions on the matter.
Had a good talk with C. M. Chang 【張純明] on my trip to Taiwan: what offers I should accept or what possibilities of useful work I may find.
