Morning, office. Returned the call of the Iran representative. Had a chat with N. S. Cheng 【鄭寶南], back from Geneva.
The ministry sent here two new secretaries, Ying 【殷惟良]【1】 and Wang 【王孟顯].【2】 Advised them (1) to take courses in Columbia or the New School or NYU, (2) to take up some sport, (3) to learn to make friends with foreigners, (4) to swear off mahjong.
Buffet lunch in the office.
Golf practice at 4:30, after helping Hilda 【沈恩欽] with carpentry.
At 6 p.m., attended a reception of Liberia.
