At dawn, landed at Monkton in New Brunswick. At 9:15, on LaGuardia Field in New York. By 9:45, had gone through all formalities. By 10:20, was in Pennsylvania Station. Fortunately, I obtained a parlor car ticket on the 11:30 train. Had lunch on train. America looks very familiar. What I saw from the plane and train is a very rich country, wisely utilized. At 3, train arrived in Washington. Went straight to Broadmoor and luckily enough I found a room there. Had a bath and then phone K. W. Shaw 【壽景偉] and Sie 【謝家聲]. They came over, had a long session together. Dinner in Broadmoor. Afterwards, moved over to Shoreham, where K. W. had reserved a suite for me. Shaotseng 【楊紹震] and Yafeng 【許亞芬] came in: 5 of us chatted till 11 p.m. Deep sleep.
