Rose at 5:30, breakfast at 6. On the airfield at 6:45. Cap. Wang 【王致光], Consul Wang 【王良坤], and K. C. Cheng 【鄭康祺] saw me off. At 7, take off. First part of the journey, up to Ceduna was very pleasant. Out of Ceduna about 10 minutes, the plane turned back; I was much scared, thinking there must be engine trouble. It happened that the hostess had her hand cut; the plane returned to enable her to get medical treatment. Almost 40 minutes from Perth, met with a storm; for 10 minutes, it was very rough. Arrived at Perth at 7:50 p.m.
